an update of sorts and a Mystery object…
I would like to thank everyone for your emails, nice comments, cyber hugs and prayers. I really really appreciate it. Thankyou. Mum received the results of her biopsy today and whilst the news wasn’t good it also wasn’t hopelessly bad. Mum needs to travel to Melbourne for a P.E.T scan thingy and once we get the results from that we will be able to formulate a plan of attack. You can nick over to Veronica’s for a bit more info if you like.
There actually is a P.E.T scanner thing here. It is just outside Hobart in a bloody great big cardboard box shipping container. Typically there is some bureaucratic bullshit happening and a rather large, quite useful and very expensive piece of medical equipment is sitting in storage until some useless dickhead politician decides to sign a release form.. Or at least that is what we were shown on the local news tonight. *sigh*
I didn’t get much sleep last night and because my sleepless toddler has grown up.. I am all out of practice at functioning on minimal sleep.
So I will finish up with a mystery object… What do you reckon this is my lovelies???
I balance amazing cooking with indifferent housekeeping. Vacuuming is definitely bad for your soul. Unless someone else does it, then it is B.A.D for your ears as well... *sigh*

I have never heard of a PET scan. Probably my insurance isn’t good enough for me to ask for one if needed anyway LOL! I’m glad your mum is getting the *best* care!!

I’m glad to hear things are not completely bleak and hope you’ll all be ok.
As for PET scans, I remember hearing there was only one in the UK, but that could be different now.

It sounds like your gov’t has similar attributes as ours. Allow a useful piece of medical equipment sit in storage until somebody sees fit to sign a “release”. Genius.

Ah, yes, the Government is a wonderful thing. Not.
I have no idea what that is. At first I thought it was a pedestal fan with some protective device to stop little toddler fingers from being injured, but then I figured it would be unlike you to take a picture of something so straight forward.
I’m glad, if that is the right word, that things look semi-ok for your mum. I can’t believe they make sick people travel so far though. Who pays for the transport? What if she can’t afford it? Dear God, sometimes it feels like we live in a third world country.

I think it’s a hair dryer and hair. At first I thought a clothes dryer filter, but then I saw the hair.
