It makes me ill.

I purposefully avoid many things packaged in plastic--but until there are stiff government penalties, manufacturers won't stop USING plastic to package products.

One day Mother Nature is going to slough us off her back and rebuild herself.

I'm not sure if I have the gus to look at this video, I KNOW I'm going to be stuck with a horrible visual for the rest of the day. And I already have one. The one of that turtle with a plastic bag sticking out of his beak.
People really ought to be a lot more aware what they do to our planet. So true!!

I hate plastic and avoid it where I can. Hubby loves his plastic bags for the rubbish disposal, but even he makes sure that plastic rings off juice bottles and sixpacks (which he no longer buys) are cut up so that birds and fish etc can't get caught in them.

Thank you. I limit plastic as much as possible and my dh thinks I am obsessed with recycling. Our recycling bin is always overflowing and our normal one has very little in it. I know I am doing the right thing.

We like your soapbox. We had a beef with Nestle about their bottled water campaign, but really it could have/should be with all plastic bottle producers. Thanks for this reminder to get back on our soapbox and remind more people...

Horrible. Just horrible. I do try to limit the amount of plastic we 'consume' but it's so hard when almost everything you buy has some plastic component to the wrapping or manufacture. The unavoidable I do my best to either recycle or dispose of as responsibly as possible. What are we doing to our world and how much of Nature glories will be left for our children and grandchildren?

@ Mrs Oh, Thankyou. The photos shocked me. I knew there was heaps of plastic out there but I hadn't really thought about it before today. I had heard about the pacific garbage dump but the enormity of it's scale and the impact all this plastic rubbish is having is only just now starting to sink in.
