If those are from Luna Park, then I have ridden most of them. Recently 🙂

Looking at your tagging I am hoping that you are okay.

I am fine, it is just too hard to articulate how sad Carousel horses make me feel. It is all wrapped up with childhood and my mythology.

Sometimes I just don’t have the proper words so I don’t say anything 🙂

OK. Carousels to me are amazing, that surreal wonder of childhood, but I can see how they can be more of a veneer to someone else.

I have to admit that those horses don’t look natural or comfortable or happy…they’re almost frightening, but I never noticed it before.
It might be the sensory overload we feel in those places.

I love carousel horses but only to look at, riding carousels always made me feel sick after the first minute or so!

Hope your spirit lifts soon lovey 😉

I used to love riding those when I was little. I don’t recall seeing any quite like that though, with the frightened faces. The ones I rode had closed mouths, much less scary.

Sometimes as one grows up, taste for certain things change. I used to like carousels when i was young but not anymore!!
