Sunday Selections #16

I take a lot of photos and most of them are just sitting around in folders on my desktop not doing anything. I thought that a dedicated post once a week would be a good way to share some of these photos that  otherwise wouldn’t be seen by anyone other than me.

I am also remarkably absent minded and I put photos into folders and think  that I will publish them later on and then then I never do.

So I  have started a photo meme that anyone can join in and play as well. The rules are so simple as to be virtually non existent.

Just add your name and URL to the Mr Linky.

Publish your photos on your blog using the “Sunday Selections” title.

Link back here to me.

Easy Peasy.

I love that one gull checking out the sign, he makes me laugh! 🙂

The other two are beautiful, but the first one .. funny!

    • frogpondsrock April 24, 2011, 10:07 am

The first photo makes me smile as well.

  • Marita April 24, 2011, 9:14 am

I love the last one, is that clouds or water? Very calming to look at either way.

    • frogpondsrock April 24, 2011, 10:05 am

It is clouds Marita. I am not sure if I like it or not. The original photo was very very pink and I was experimenting with it.

      • Marita April 24, 2011, 10:27 am

Reminds me of the reflections in water. I do like pink… perhaps that triggered my attraction to it 🙂

  • Elephant's Child April 24, 2011, 9:40 am

Birds, trees and skies. It doesn’t come much better than that. Thanks.

    • frogpondsrock April 24, 2011, 3:50 pm

No worries, I am pleased you liked them 🙂

  • Megan April 24, 2011, 10:12 am

I really like the last picture.

    • frogpondsrock April 24, 2011, 3:51 pm

Phew! I wasn’t sure whether to put it up or not, I was hoping someone would like it. Thanks Megan 🙂

  • Kakka April 24, 2011, 10:38 am

Loving the eagle or is it an osprey? Beautiful action shot catching his feathers.

    • frogpondsrock April 24, 2011, 3:53 pm

It is a Wedgetail Eagle Kakka, It was taken with my lumix point and shoot. It is my favourite photo. I have printed it out and pasted it into numerous visual diaries just because it makes me feel free.

  • Sam @ Learn. Create. Do. April 24, 2011, 10:58 am

Love the 1st one. They’re all so evenly spaced.
No 2 eagle wings are wondrous things.
And the clouds in the 3rd are very dreamy and look like a reflection in water.

  • Dannie April 24, 2011, 12:06 pm

Love the bird/Eagle one makes me feel really free! 🙂

  • Dorothy April 24, 2011, 3:07 pm

The gulls win this week’s selection. It seems they’re after a job….

  • Rusty Hoe April 24, 2011, 3:33 pm

Love the freedom of the 2nd one. Something about birds in flight that makes me dreamy. I started something similar a while ago. I call mine “The View From My Couch”. Thanks to health issues I don’t get out much so I started taking photos of what was in my small sphere of existence, the idea being to find beauty in the little things. I enjoy it. Once you start looking there is beauty everywhere, it’s all about retraining the eye to look for it.

  • Marie April 24, 2011, 4:27 pm

That first picture cracked me up. There’s always one in a crowd, isn’t there? And the bird in silhouette in the second photo is wonderful – such grace in the sweep of the wings.

    • Kim (frogpondsrock) April 24, 2011, 8:11 pm

There certainly is Marie 🙂 The Eagle swooping was taken with my old point and shoot and It is one of my favourite photos.

  • Kelley @ Magnetoboldtoo April 24, 2011, 5:18 pm

The first one is fabulous. Made me laugh like a loon.

And not just because I am high on sugar.

  • sharon April 24, 2011, 10:07 pm

    Love those clouds Kim 😉

We have had some clouds – and rain and thunder and lightning! The last three were in the wee small hours of this morning ;-(

  • Jay from The Depp Effect April 25, 2011, 2:21 am

That first one is GREAT! ROFL! I too love the one gull that’s looking down as if he’s reading the sign. Great capture!

Hope you’re having a good Easter!

  • Avril April 25, 2011, 6:05 am

Love the seagulls with the one ‘reading’ … second one is amazing … clouds are awesome!

  • Mena April 25, 2011, 8:24 am

I love the first picture with the seagulls. I love the background of the sky in it too.

  • Trish April 25, 2011, 9:49 am

Love the sign & seagulls. Great capture of the one looking down.
    I’m joining in today.
You might be able to tell me about the critter ? moth we found on our egg hunt.

  • sleepydwarf April 25, 2011, 10:45 pm

The first shot is very funny. I didn’t notice the bird bending down at first. It took me a bit of looking 🙂
The eagle shot is great, I love silhouettes. Fantastic to get that so perfectly frozen.
And the cloud is cool, I take a lot of cloud photos.

  • carolina April 26, 2011, 3:09 am

I gather unemployment rates are high in gull land? What a great shot!
I’ve posted the photos you’ve asked for in my Sunday Selections. I hope. No, I know I’ve posted them, but I hope they are what you wanted. Since my previous laptop died last year I seem to have lost the ability to email photos. I’m using different programs now and have not yet figured out how they work. Anyway, this seemed to be the best solution. You can copy the photos to your own computer if you like.

  • Watershedd April 26, 2011, 10:19 am

Ah, your seagulls still bring a smile to my face and the silhouette of the eagle is lovely, but I love the last one of the clouds. Ethereal.

  • river April 26, 2011, 12:17 pm

I’m another one who loves the seagull reading the sign.
The cloud one is interesting, and I’m sure I’ve mentioned before how much I love your eagle photos.

@Carolina; right click on the photo and select the email option from the drop-down menu?
