Yes that is right folks, this week there was a winner.. YAY!!!! Marylin was the first one to correctly guess that this weeks mysterious item was in fact prunes…

Julie also mentioned prunes in her answer as did Bendy girl…Jientje talked herself out of guessing prunes and went for dolmades instead.Taz also guessed that the ever so mysterious item was Prunes. So this week it is a great big *Yay* for the girls.

:- and because so many people mentioned dolmades here is a recipe for them..

DOLMADES aka STUFFED VINE LEAVES…

250g (8oz) onion, minced

410g (13oz) short grain rice

150ml (5 fl oz) olive oil

1 tablespoon dill, chopped

1/2 cup mint, chopped

1 tablespoon salt

40 small vine leaves

150ml (5 fl oz) lemon juice….

METHOD

1. Mix the onion,rice.oil,herbs,salt and lemon juice in a bowl.  Boil some water and cover the vine leaves with boiling water and leave to soak for 15 minutes.

2. Put the vine leaves into cold water and leave for ten minutes.Drain and  dry them flat on kitchen paper or a tea-towel.

3.Place one tablespoon of the rice mixture on the vine leaf and wrap like a parcel.                                   ( use less mix if the leaves are small)

4.Place the stuffed leaves in a sacepan and cover with boiling water. Add 50ml(2fl oz) of lemon juice to the water. Place a plate over the top of them to keep them submerged and simmer for an hour.

You can use silverbeet or chard leaves if you dont have any vine leaves.

Lots of people thought that it was a goldfish. It even looks like a goldfish. But it wasn’t a goldfish.. Sorry.

It wasn’t a motorcycle, a microphone, a marble or a minogue.

It wasn’t a supernova, a garden gazing globe or ceramics in the kiln.

It wasn’t a colourful aussie bird or my brain on drugs..

It also wasn’t a snowglobe with rabid pumpkins inside it.. (thanks Jayne for that late effort..)

It was a close-up of a redback spiders bum… For those of you who don’t even like pictures of spiders look away now.. so not only did this post make your eyes bleed. It also made some of you go EEEEEK…

My job here is done!! Muawhahahahaaa….

Xbox guessed that this was egg yolk, blast!!! I knew I should have made it harder..

I really hope that you all enjoy my mystery object posts as much as I do. Some of the answers this week just cracked me up.

James reckoned that it was an avalanche on the moon…. ok my high school science is  a bit rusty  but don’t you need gravity to have an avalanche? I cant remember. It was an interesting train of thought though and I must remember to look it up.. Maybe Mrs C could find out for me?

Tiff thought that it was  three week old scrambled eggs.  I got the giggles at the thought of an alternate reality where leftovers actually exist long enough to go the pretty colours that River suggested.

Xbox was accused of pinching Tracey’s idea and Lou thought that the Mysterious object could possibly be vomit swirling down the drain..mmm Methinks Lou might have a hangover. It couldn’t possibly be vomit anyway because there aren’t any carrot chunks..

It was indeed concrete being mixed in a mixer.. Yay for Hyphen Mama.  Hyphen is the winner..YAY..  There isn’t a prize for correctly guessing the mystery object.
