I can remember doctors doing tv commercials for cigarettes.
But they were Canadian brands like Dumaurier.

I quit smoking 26 years and 1 month ago. I smoked Camels. Never, ever regretted it. Not to say it was easy. But nothing I regretted.

    Any idea why?

Reminds me of an old joke: 9 out of 10 men who have tried camels prefer women……..

I even saw a commercial with the Flinstones on You Tube, I think the brand name was Winston?
Anyway, in those days it was very normal …
I quit two years ago, never regretted it neither!

If doctors approve it then it must be ok.

Think I actually heard something about that ad on NPR – that it was run back at the time when the cigarette industry knew perfectly well their product was killing people but were buying off politicians and some doctors to keep it under wraps.

Todays health care industry is almost as ugly; wonder how long it will take the full truth to come out on that.

This cracks me up. The World Wildlife Fund is actually using this old ad in their new advertising campaign for “The Good Life” – a climate change initiative. (The idea being that treating the environment the way we do now will seem just as wrong as an ad like this does now.)

    Does that make any sense?

Funny ad either way. Thanks for sharing.
