I have been trying to go for a walk up the road every morning. Here are some photos that I have taken in the past couple of days.
I have just finished Robin Hobb’s latest novel from The Rain Wild Chronicles and every time I read her work, I see Dragons in the sky for days afterwards. This was the sky this morning at about 5.40 am.
This sunrise silhoutte was taken Thursday morning, I love the way the light moves through the leaves of the gum trees.
I like the shot in black and white as well.
I was photographing the reflections in a dam.
When I disturbed a pair of black mountain ducks.
I like the texture of the bark peeling away from the trees and I am not sure which of these photos I like the best.
Other than that, I haven’t got a lot to say, time is moving along at a cracking pace and I am constantly surprised by how fast the days are slipping through my fingers.
How are things with you?

What beautiful shots Kim. Especially love the reflections in the dam. Quite eerie looking. Although I’m sometimes awake as the sun rises, I’m certainly not up and about recording it. Inspired by your photos I have managed a couple of sunset pictures and hope to take more as the days lengthen – at the moment the sun goes down when I am preparing dinner 😉 The fewer cloudy days would be a help too.
Beautiful Kim. I especially love the sunrise through the gum trees.
Oh Kim, you have such a wonderful eye for gorgeous shots!
I just love your work. Your images are all so inspiring. Makes me want to do some pics to write a hub on ANU.
Gorgeous photos! I see lots of sunsets but rarely see a sunrise so thank you BG Xx
Kim, this is the first time I’ve seen some of your photographs and they are gorgeous! I think the B&W sunset is awesome!
Love, love, love the first pic!
Life here, also cracking. Unexpected matters Friday night have made our weekend plans go entirely out the window. The coming week is likely to be no better. I am somewhat pissed at certain individuals, but we’ve progressed each in our own way. Ah, at least the last two chapters of the text will be submitted on Wednesday. A few days of peace for me without feeling guilty about taking a break!
I love the dragon sky. The sunrise through the trees looks like fire, while the same shot in black and white looks like evening.
These photo’s are amazing. I especially like the last two. The blue one just a tad more. 🙂
Those skies are gorgeous!! I see the dragon in the sky!
I love the movement and swiftness captured by the photo of the mountain ducks. Yes, the days zip by. One more week at the office, then holidays and – yay! – Tasmania. I’m currently experiencing little bursts of anticipatory happiness.
Oh these are gorgeous! 🙂
The sun coming through the gum trees is breathtaking.
I think I like the second bark peeling shot, there’s something so dramatic about it.
Wonderful selection this week!
Things are lovely, thanks for asking.
Glad to see you back at Weekly Winners!
The sunrise is gorgeous and I like the bottom one ofthe peeling tree!
Welcome back!!
The first two shots are AMAZING! Great shots!
oh, I love the last two, very haunting, the whole series tells a haunting story.
Such lovely shots. Perhaps I need to get up a bit earlier? I am missing all this beauty so early in the day!
I had two words in my mind when seeing those. Peace. And beginnings.

Oh wow!! That first sky shot is just beautiful!
These photos are stunning, Kim! You truly have an eye for capturing light on film, wonderful!
The bark shots are gorgeous….but my favorite is the dragon in the sky. Very cool.
Wow – beautiful shots! I would get up and walk in the morning if I had that scenery too.
I haven’t kept up with Robin Hobb’s books, I love her stuff.
Is it wrong to love her for her brain? lol
Your photos are incredible 🙂
I love the tree against the sunset. Tree silhouettes are one of my favorite things, and those colors are stunning!
I can’t make up my mind Kim, on which shot I prefer. Liking them all for different reasons. A bit of me wants you to set up shop selling these pictures of yours on canvas, enormous canvas. My imagination runs wild, seeing exhibitions in big cities…. circa /dragons in skies/ series.
I am off to google the book.
I am not too bad, thank you for asking. As ever, commenting to avoid blogging. he he.
Beautiful Photo’s thanks for sharing.
Wow. Those are some really wonderful photos! I personally love the 2nd and last pic. The 2nd one is so beautiful to look at specially in person! 🙂
