The Australian blogging conference is next week.
Twitter is all a flutter with talk of pre and post conference meet ups, tweet ups, dinner dates and the like.
Blog posts about what to wear and what not to wear, why we should wear this and why we shouldnt worry about wearing that, are popping up all over the place like pimples on a teenager.
Each time I see a tweet about makeup or fashion I get a little twitchy.
And I wonder about our obsession with our appearance.
And I then think critically about my own appearance.
And my own sense of style
Which I call bag lady chic.
And then I get the giggles and go and play in the mud.
So for anyone that is worried about what to wear, come and see me at the conference and I will make you feel like you are the queen of chic and the epitome of style. My ample proportions will also make you feel lovely and slim.
For the style challenged amongst us, here are some shoes I wore in the snow a couple of winters ago.
If you are shy come and find me because I am not shy at all.
And I would love to meet you.
Especially if you read my blog.
I will have bright purple hair
And I will be wearing stripey socks like these but my shoes will probably be black, or they could be purple flowery crocs. We shall have to wait and see.

I can’t wait to have dinner with you!
It is going to be heaps of fun.
I like those stripy socks a lot.
My biggest fashion decision for the weekend is zombie t shirt or ninja t shirt 😀 I contemplated ironing them today but that all seemed like too much work.
Fun oh yes. I am mega jealous, sulking in UK big time.
You make me smile. We have a lot in common. Except I am not as brave on the this is me front. OH has contributed to me losing my identity but that is whole other story and this is a happy, smiley post.
Have fun, fun, fun, laugh and please prop Veronica up. I know she will rise to the occassion and smile through the pain but she will be out of her comfort zone.
We have a family weekend do with OH at very posh place and I have promised myself not to get into a state about the whole will I fit in clothes appropriateness front. I mean I am me right.
Now I am off to sulk some more……….
Hee-hee, I have those shoes too – and I knit my own stripey socks! Wish I could be there, you’re all going to have a ball.
x
i like your style! Thinking and worrying about what to wear only makes me feel unhappy, so I stick to what I know works for me and rarely go outside the box. I don’t want to care or think about it for the conference beyond what I know will feel right for me. So I’m with you on this!
“popping up like pimples”
you’ve just described my face.
Nervous eating has caused a minor breakout, not highly visible, but itchy.
I’m so looking forward to meeting you.
So many people I’ve read for so long will be there on Saturday. It’s really exciting. I’ll be looking out for those stripey socks!
I’ll be looking out for you!!
Awesome blog. So glad I found you via AMB.
Following you now with GFC.

You’re a crack-up! Thanks for the snow shoe chuckle. They’re weirdly attractive 😀
hey I have the purple shoes but in blue. I wear leggings, big hand knit socks and skirts too. Either with my blue shoes or my blunnies. Depends on the mood! I too am bag lady chic!!
*pouts* I want to meet youuu! Maybe one day eh?
Hope you have an awesome time honey! xx
I say that anything unique is a fine sense of style!
Go the socks! Love them. I have no idea what I will be wearing, but I will tell the GOFA to relax back from the suit for dinner to open neck and nice trousers!
Looking forward to meeting you whatever you wear –
It’s nice to be unique 🙂
I can’t wait to meet you, Kim! And I am digging those stripey socks 🙂 x
Crocs? Gunna slap you round the head biatch.
Love the hair … and the socks! I am hopeful of finding something to wear to Aus Blog Con that will be reasonably tasteful!
Hahaha, well, as you already know, I would worry about what to wear big time LOL
If only I had funky socks like yours… 😉
A blogging conference? Wow! That would be the place to actually meet your blogfriends living in your country. In my case that wouldn’t be a huge conference. There will be two people there. Me and Mara. And I’ve already met Mara once. At her home. And if you read this story (if you have time and only if you’d like to)
http://brinkbeestinenglish.blogspot.com/2010/09/wrong-curtains-and-why-it-is-important.html
you will know why it probably would have been better to meet on neutral territory, like a conference centre.
Have fun and I’m sure your blog friends won’t have trouble finding you 😉
Ah, bag lady chic. I knew there was a name for my style!
Sigh, I wish I could be there.
MY GOD WOMAN! You ARE my long lost twin.
Purple hair; check.
Stripie socks; check .. well, if I can find ones that match.
Comfie shoes; check … if I’m wearing any at all.
Playing in the mud; check, check.
It’s not that I don’t care how I look, but more, I like so many different things …. all at once.
Come stand next to me Kim. i will make you feel like Kate Moss!
