A return to tea.

The simple pleasure of a nice cup of tea was ruined for me when I was pregnant with my first child Veronica.

The experience of vomiting the remains of a cup of china black, all over the roses in a handy garden as I was walking to work, made me determined to avoid that particular trigger and for years afterwards even the smell of freshly brewed tea made me feel slightly queasy.

So when I found a sample of She Tea in my conference bag, I quickly gave it away to the now grown up Veronica without a second thought.

A conversation with Veronica a few weeks later about how pleased she was with the lusciousness of She Tea’s blends had me intrigued. So I borrowed enough of the Happy Hippie blend for a couple of pots of tea and I was pleasantly surprised. Very pleasantly surprised.

The tea was very nice. So nice in fact that I left a message on She Teas website enquiring about their product and before you could say, “whats your credit card number,” Jodie had called me at home to discuss my preferences and I ordered some tins of their tea.

So this is NOT a sponsored post or a review.

This is just me saying you should check out She Tea because it is bloody nice tea.

I was impressed by Jodies warm and friendly manner on the phone.

I was impressed by the little added extras in my parcel.

I paid $50 for three tins of tea and when I opened the box I found some small samples of other types of tea, as well as one of those silver mesh ball thingies that you use to brew a single cup of tea and some cool postcards as well.

I was very happy.

You can find She Tea’s website here

Happy tea drinking.

I’ll check out the site, but probably not buy any. I like the peppermint and chamomile teas I get from Coles well enough. The lemon and ginger tea too. When I have my own herbs growing I use those too.
    I like the fact they’ve got a “He-Tea” blend.

I grow chamomile here, to use in an infusion for eye injuries ie welding flashes and that sort of thing. I like chamomile to calm cranky children but I don’t like to drink it myself as I am naturally sleepy and I like teas that pick me up not slow me down.

Mmm, tea. You can’t beat a good cup of tea. I wonder if they ship to the uk.

I don’t know Barb, you should ask them. They are pretty quick to respond to enquiries on their website.

How awful not to be able to drink tea!!! I can’t drink coffee, but that pales in comparison!!

It wasn’t until I discovered the She Tea that I realised how much I had missed a cup of tea. So now I take the tea and the infuser up to the studio with me and sip and work. 🙂

i live for tea. I love tea. I can’t live without tea. I’ll add this to my list. I’m not sure I ever drank the tea that came in the conference pack. I don’t know why. It’s probably still in there lost among the products taht were no use to me. I’ll have a look!

    • frogpondsrock July 13, 2011, 8:34 am

I didn’t find the tea until a few weeks after the conference and it was just in there, in the bottom of the bag lurking with the furniture polish and the tissues. I am so pleased that I did find it and can now share my find with you. Let me know what you think of their tea when you find your sample.

Beefy made me try Rooiboos tea when I was just pregnant with the youngest. It made me vomit and now the mere thought of it has me gagging. Every other tea in the world is my best friend, though. I have an extensive collection. I’ll have to check these out.

Oh do Ali, they have a lovely white tea that I am enjoying of an evening called Motherhood. it is a white tea so no caffeine, it has cinnamon and apple and hibiscus flowers and is a lovely drink.

Excellent! Will have to check it out. Pretty cool marketing there on their packages. I don’t think I can ever drink lemonade again after being pregnant. Nor, can I watch Star Wars. I know that sounds crazy, but I was horribly nauseous and pregnant when we did this Star Wars marathon, and now it is ruined for me. Just the mention of it turns my stomach. Ugh.

I hear you. One of the co-founders of the business is also the artist that does the artwork on the tins. I like her work her paintings make me smile.

Love the ‘for a bloody great bloke’ one. Made me chuckle. My bloody great bloke however does not drink tea. Unless he’s in a boat on Lake Windermere and there is no alternative and the tea is made by a very nice British gentleman using a nifty device and the steam of the boat. But that is the only time I’ve seen my BGB drink tea.

Isn’t it lovely that people really love their product and make an effort to make someone happy? The way you described your tea delivery made me smile. It sounds great. Happy tea drinking 😉

I was very excited when I saw all the extra little pieces in my parcel. It is these small touches that make me a loyal customer. And their tea is very good as well.

I’ve just put my She-tea sample on the bench to pop into the tea pot to try, great minds!
I’ve been hearing a lot of positive feedback about She-tea so I’m looking forward to sipping some 🙂

Oh Cool Jayne, Which sample do you have? Let me know what you think.

Being the only American in the Pacific Northwest that prefers tea over coffee (which is like the French preferring McDonalds over an eclair, or a fish preferring the desert to the sea) I have to say, those look pretty lovely. I doubt however, they ship state side, and if they did, it would likely cost a mint.
Some of the names crack me up, and those drawings are priceless. I would buy them just for that.

  • Jess July 17, 2011, 3:54 pm

    Yes, I just posted.
I just sent she-tea a request to sell state side. Either they’ll ignore it completely, believing it to be a joke, or think some old doddering broad in Seattle has gone off her Cheerios. … which then means they’ll likely ignore it as well.
Can’t blame a girl for trying.
I have no idea why you need to know this, but should anyone from she-tea ever mention strange Americans .. you know why. … well, aside from the usual.

    Cheers!
