Sunday Selections #36

Welcome to this weeks Sunday Selections. The rules are simple and everyone is welcome to join in.

The Blurb

I take a lot of photos and most of them are just sitting around in folders on my desktop not doing anything. I thought that a dedicated post once a week would be a good way to share some of these photos that otherwise wouldn’t be seen by anyone other than me.

I am also remarkably absent minded and I put photos into folders and think that I will publish them later on and then then I never do.

So I have started a photo meme that anyone can join in and play as well. The rules are so simple as to be virtually non existent.

Just add your name and URL to the Mr Linky.

Publish your photos on your blog using the “Sunday Selections” title.

Easy Peasy.

The Photos

I miss this tree. It was the focal point for a lot of my sunset photos. The tree was cut down in 2009 to make way for powerline upgrades from single phase to three phase capability. I am making good use of that powerline upgrade in my studio as the kiln needs three phase power. I still miss this tree and sunset photos are quite boring without it there in the photo making me smile.

I think this next photo speaks for itself. The stories this photo conjure up just make me smile.

Last summer I had a zillion grey aphids in the honeysuckle which grows over the back verandah. The silver eyes had a feast.

Spring has well and truly sprung here in Tassie and my daffodils are out in force reminding me that summer is just around the corner.

And with the advent of the warmer weather the blasted blowies are waking up as well.

Lovely sunset Kim. Whose pink boots could those be? Lol! The silver eyes in my garden are very industrious too 😉 No blowies . . . as yet . . .

hehe I took that photo when Mum was still alive. We giggled over it.

    *love* the gumboots picture.

Just love it so much. I want to frame it and hang it up … probably near an outside door.

    • Marita September 11, 2011, 11:03 am

Okay I just showed Ralph the gumboots picture and he loves it too.

So how does one purchase a copy of a photo from you ?

I am in the process of setting up an online shop Marita it will be another month before it is up and running as my techie isn’t well at the moment. I have emailed the photograph to you 🙂 along with my price.

Love them all, as always. That sunset is spectacular, the gum boots are soooo cute and the daffodils are just glowing. Thanks.

I was thinking about your daffodils as I put that photo up. My daffs are spectacular this year. I have a lot of old daffodils from my friends grandmothers property. Her Nan used to win prizes with her daffs and I have a lot of her beauties here.

I love the sunset, and can imagine the story of those left-behind gumboots already. The sight of the daffodils each day would make me smile, and I used to always have some in the house at Springtime. Must go and get them, flowers in the house would make Miss 5 very happy. That photo of the blowie is quite spectacular! 🙂

I was using my Macro lens and trying to get a crisp photo of its eyes and when I looked at the photos on the computer I liked this one the best. Mum was with me when I took that photo of Amys gumboots 🙂 It is one of my favourite photos

I totally get how you would miss that tree. It frames the sunset perfectly. Love the gumboots picture too. It looks like fun was had in that big puddle.

    • frogpondsrock September 11, 2011, 12:36 pm

It does Sam and now the sunsets are just sky photos without any counterbalance. The gumboot photo is a favourite of mine.

  • Megan September 11, 2011, 2:13 pm

Love Love Love the sunset photo absolutely gorgeous. The gumboot one is cute.

  • Denyse Whelan September 11, 2011, 2:14 pm

Love the tree being your marker…and now gone for your 3 phase power…ahh the joy of photos..still got the tree! The one with the pink gumboots…gorgeous… Happy Play Day Miss A! I loved loved the daffodils. In Tassie you seem to do seasons way better than us in NSW. Thanks Kim. Always a joy to visit. Denyse

I love all the photos, but those pink gumboots speak to me. There’s a story happening there…..

  • river September 11, 2011, 4:03 pm

Love the gumboots and the daffs, can you find another tall landmark to frame future sunset photos?
    I hate blowies. hatehatehatehate

    • frogpondsrock September 11, 2011, 5:10 pm

Not really River, but I can play with photographing the sunset through the leaves of a smaller tree and see what happens with those images. The blowies annoy me as well.

Loe the forgotten gumboots. And the silvereyes with the unfocused background. It looks like i have a lot to learn about photography.

  • HappeningsOfUs September 11, 2011, 10:10 pm

    Love the pics!

  • Kristy @PampersandPinot September 12, 2011, 5:17 am
