Hi everyone last week I was incredibly busy preparing for the upcoming exhibition in the Off Centre’s Micro Gallery that I didn’t get a chance to comment on any of your posts. I am sorry about that.
The kiln is in the process of cooling down now and I should be able to sneak a peek at the work late on Tuesday. So without further ado I am pleased to host the 52 edition of Sunday Selections.
The Blurb
I take a lot of photos and most of them are just sitting around in folders on my desktop not doing anything. I thought that a dedicated post once a week would be a good way to share some of these photos that otherwise wouldnโt be seen by anyone other than me.
I am also remarkably absent minded and I put photos into folders and think that I will publish them later on and then then I never do.
So I have started a photo meme that anyone can join in and play as well. The rules are so simple as to be virtually non existent.
Just add your name and URL to the Mr Linky.
Publish your photos on your blog using the โSunday Selectionsโ title.

The Photos
This isn’t my photo. It is a photo of Philadelphia Hanson Viney’s work, that I am using as our invitation to our exhibition. The photo was taken by a good friend of mine. Talented local photographer Robin Roberts.
The rest of these are my photos.

That beetle macro is just stunning. I love them all, but the beetle, the grasshopper and the photograph you are using to entice people to attend your exhibition have won my heart. I do wish I lived a litle closer.
I love the beetle macro as well. I would like to make a pot that has the lovely colours and pinhole textures of the beetles abdomen(?) I will take photos of the work and post it on the blog for you ๐ Philadelphia (Philly) makes beautiful work, her ceramic skulls are wonderful.
Great pic Kim. Love the grasshopper. I’ll have to check everyone’s pics when I get back from hols as its taking me over 30mins to load each page (damn Optus 3G network)
Best of luck with the exhibition. Would live to go too. x
Thanks for the luck Sam. I will take photos for you. Enjoy your holidays ๐
LOOKY HERE! My first linky thingy.
MWAH
Was it good for you as well Kel?
Awesome macros. Really Awesome.
I am pleased you like them ๐ I like the beetle the best
I love the shiny beetle too, but the cricket more.
What is that little kangaroo type animal hiding in the dead ferns? A wallaby? Or a kanga baby?
She is a Rufous Wallaby River, one of the resident wallabies that live in my backyard. I have put a protection order on her. She has a joey and because she has a distinctive mark on her rump it is easy for the boys to avoid her when they decide to get me a wallaby for the pot.
Love the grasshopper. He is very cool ๐ Xmas beetle is great too. We’ve seen a couple in our yard the last few days.
thanks ๐
The macro pictures are amazing.
I hope you exhibit is a stunning success.
Thanks Marita, Most of the work for the exhibition is in the kiln, cooling down now. So I have everything crossed that it was a successful firing.
Got my fingers crossed for you too.
The beetle and the grasshopper are great! Like them both a lot. And of course the furry critter is cute. You know I have a thing for furry critters ๐ And I just read in the comments that she is under your personal protection. Thank heavens. I will not comment on the reason she needs protection. You know.. ๐
The rabbits (or hares?) touched my heart.
Wishing all of you a Happy New Year.
Wallabies are very tasty Carolina.I could keep sheep here but the land is too fragile for them so we eat wallaby instead. I will only let my son go out and shoot some when we need the meat. He will aim for the bucks (boys). Eating meat is a balancing act. The killing is unpleasant but necessary and as long as we never ever take our food for granted I will be able to eat meat with a clear conscience.
I also like Phillys hares very much. ๐ I will post photos of our work in the micro gallery.
Oh, I love the first two!! Beautiful!
The others .. I was thinking ‘that rabbit has a very pointy face! Then of course, I saw that he wasn’t a rabbit at all. Neat!
Wallabies are small Kangaroos. They are nocturnal and it is unusual to see them in the daytime. That is why I posted the photos. This one, is one of my resident wallabies and I normally only see her just on dusk. She has a small joey and the fact that she was out in the daylight (albeit very close to the scrub) made me smile.
Not joining in, but I love yours.
Thanks Maddy. good to see/read you again ๐
I just really, really love your Macro photos. Miss 5 also thinks the grasshopper is “so cute”. ๐
I also really like the photo you’ve chosen for your exhibition. They look like mummified bunnies to me, and I am very fascinated my mummification.
I thought the grasshopper was pretty cute as well. The photo captures the essence of Philadelphia’s work and I think an image of her work is a good indicator of my work as well.
The last animal is just so cute, a reminder of a small kangaroo perhaps.
The first image, of dead rabbit bones, man thats just scary.
