This is the last Sunday Selections I will be doing with long hair. Thank you to those of you who have written blog posts for me and an even bigger thanks to those of you who have donated. On a silly note, I am more nervous about publishing photos of myself with short hair than I am of doing the actual shave. Vain, I am vain.
There is still time for you to write a post for me, if you would like to encourage your readers to donate to the Leukaemia Foundation.
Together we have raised $2726.11 so far and I am thrilled to bits with your efforts on mine and the Leukaemia Foundations behalf.
So thank you all from the very bottom of my heart.
The Blurb
I take a lot of photos and most of them are just sitting around in folders on my desktop not doing anything. I thought that a dedicated post once a week would be a good way to share some of these photos that otherwise wouldnโt be seen by anyone other than me.
I am also remarkably absent minded and I put photos into folders and think that I will publish them later on and then then I never do.
So I have started a photo meme that anyone can join in and play as well. The rules are so simple as to be virtually non existent.
Just add your name and URL to the Mr Linky.
Publish your photos on your blog using the โSunday Selectionsโ title.

The Photos
This is my grand daughter Amy, we were at the Museum in Hobart. This was taken in 2011.
This cow wandered onto my property late in 2010. I don’t like cows very much and this cow can feel my dislike. She is glaring back at me as she quietly hums the tune, “Cows with Guns”
These next two photos have been fiddled with in photoshop. I like them.

Wonderful pictures! Amy looks very happy with her ice cream, and the photoshop ones are so clever.
I don’t mind cows *over there* but I’m not a fan of them near me. They don’t seem to like me. I think the cows know about my butter addiction.
Thank you Cassandra, Amy and I had a good day out. I can happily stand in a paddock with a hundred horses and feel at ease. But one cow always makes me nervous. I think it is because I don’t know how to read them, I only know how to cook them.
Amy is gorgeous. I so have to get bak down to Hobart …
Yes, yes you do.
Oh, I like the last one, but it keeps making me think of liquorice all sorts! It’s a colour thing ๐
You scared the life out of me with the ‘this is the last Sunday Selections ….’ opener. I was really happy to finish the sentence. Hair grows.
This week I cannot tell you which photo I like most. The photoshop just shows your cleverness in yet another medium. The other two for quite different reasons brought a smile to my face. Thank you. Lots.
*grins a wicked grin* As long as there is at least one person who wants to keep on joining in with Sunday Selections EC I will keep on doing it. I only know the very basics of photoshop, how to alter the levels, exposure, colour balance etc. I don’t know how to do any of the fancy stuff like remove things and add things. I generally only use photoshop for fiddling with the contrast a bit and cropping and resizing my images. But sometimes I like a component of a photo, in this case the filament of the poppy caught my eye and so I fiddled with the colour until I was happy with the contrast between black and lemon/yellow.
That’s a very cute picture of Amy. Funny you should mention Cows with Guns, I was listening to that the other day. I love that picture ๐
I have had it as an earworm for a while now.
That cow certainly is keeping an eye on you.
I love the Cows With Guns song!!
But I prefer cows when they are called steak.
And Burgers
The only reason I’d use a photoshop program is to pixelate faces, there are so many photos I could use if only the faces weren’t visible.
I am so with you River, I don’t like cows at all.
All the best with the haircut, Kim. You can always photoshop it on again until it grows! I think it will look FAB because you are, and so is the cause.
Thanks Jebaru, I am trying really really hard not to hyperventilate when I think about it.
Amy looks adorable, and the contrast between her expression and that of the cow in the next frame is striking. Congratulations on your fundraising, and best wishes with the hair thing. My brave (defiant) daughter shaved off her hair in high school, after a Mohawk-gone-bad, and for the rest of the year she was the hat girl. She sang a duet from the musical Rent on stage near the end of the year, without her hat, and wowed the audience (and didn’t look bad at all.) Yours will look even better… being for a great cause!
Thanks Janet, and thanks to the internet I have a plethora of hats to choose from. The weather is cooling down here now and so I will be able to hide underneath a variety of hats without sweltering. I never went as far as a mohawk in high scool but I did have some pretty dodgy hairstyles ๐
Your photos are great. Love the cow, but then again… I love cows anyway. And your granddaughter all wrapped up warm, but still it isn’t cold enough to not enjoy an ice cream ๐ Love the last two photos too. Beautiful, warm colours.
Who knows, you may even like your new hairdo so much that you decide to keep it ๐ Good luck! All for a very good cause. Good for you ๐
I don’t think it is ever too cold for an ice cream when you are five Carolina ๐
Love that cow! Talk about the evil eye!
The photo of the branch is a real piece of art!
Thanks Linda I like silhouettes. And I am pleased it isn’t just me that can see that cow is giving me a dirty look.
Hi Kim – haven’t contributed for simply ages – today is the day !!! All my pics are from this weekend. Good luck with the hair thing! Quite a few male members of my family have had their hair shaved at our national shavathon – cancer has not been kind to our family and friends as well – shaving/cutting/colouring was all for a good cause. My sister in law’s sister shaved her head throughout my sister in law’s fight with cancer and chemo – thankfully all is well and their hair is growing again !!! Hope all well with you and yours Love Avril xx
Hi Avril, I tried to leave a comment on your blog but the comment form was being dicky, so you will either find 3 comments from me saying the same thing or none. I enjoyed your garden photos very much and thanks for the encouragement ๐
