Good morning everyone, it is very grey down here in Tassie at the moment. We are just coming out the other side of a few days of heavy rain and it has been a bit cold and miserable.
Actually, it has been freezing and so of course my thoughts today have turned to sunshine and summer sunsets and the pressing need to buy a heater for the studio so that my hands don’t turn an alarming shade of red then blue when I am working.
The Blurb
I take a lot of photos and most of them are just sitting around in folders on my desktop not doing anything. I thought that a dedicated post once a week would be a good way to share some of these photos that otherwise wouldn’t be seen by anyone other than me.
I am also remarkably absent minded and I put photos into folders and think that I will publish them later on and then then I never do.
So I have started a photo meme that anyone can join in and play as well. The rules are so simple as to be virtually non existent.
Just add your name and URL to the Mr Linky.
Publish your photos on your blog using the “Sunday Selections” title.

The fire just draws you in! Such a contrast to the gorgeous frog. x
I have lots and lots of photos of fire here Carmen, I see so many things in the flames. I would like to make a swirly orange and red glaze one day and make a series of flame pots.
I would love to see a series of flame pots Kim!
They need some deep thought 🙂
That eagle!! And the frog, and the fire, and the tree and the sunset. You have excelled yourself. But the eagle has my heart in its talons.
It is my favourite photo EC I reckon I have published that photo on the blog at least half a dozen times since I took it in 2010. It isnt as crisp as I would like as I was running through the bush snapping away freehand but it is still a wonderful photo
Hi Kim…and everyone else too. I am glad to be back. Kim your selections are awesome. I love the majesty of the tree, and agree that the frog contrasted with the fire wonderful. My fav in terms of “how the heck did you do that” is the bird. Go you. And go you and get a heater for the studio…eeerrr YOU are freezing..and ceramic artists cannot freeze.

I saw the eagle fly past my window one morning about 6.30, I think he/she had been eyeing off my chooks as an easy meal option. I just grabbed the camera and raced out the door and went snap snap snappity snap and hoped like hell I got some decent photos as I only had about 30 seconds of the Eagle in a tree before he/she flew away.
Eagle. Every time. Love it.
Thanks Anne 🙂
I love the flames and the eagle.
I read your comment to Carmen and I hope you do manage to make some fire pots, they’d be amazing.
Now, off you go and buy a heater for the studio.
I have a tiny little fan heater of my Mum’s it is about the size of a large grapefruit. I have been aiming its pathetic warmth at my ankles as I work and I will go and buy a stronger, blaster of warmth next payday. Until then it is hats and scarves for me 🙂
I love the little froggie!! Very cute.. and the eagle is awesome!!!
I hope your weather improves soon…
We wont see much improvement until spring time now. Today for instance is very very crisp. There was a good frost this morning and now the sky is a bright blue but it is FREEZING and I am reluctant to leave the warmth of the woodheater.
These are all beautiful photos, Kim. The eagle is so close! Reading the comments about “fire pots” bought back memories of doing salt glazes and experimenting with natural materials in pit firings. Actually, that’s an idea… pots AND heating in one go!
YES! Actually we are thinking of doing a pit firing at a friends place later on, I am looking forward to it very much.
Love love love the frog. But also love love love the solitude of the tree… the faces in the fire… the elegance of the eagle… and the fire in the sunrise.
Yes. I do as well. Thank you
You are concerned with the cold and we are in the high 90’s … I would almost like to trade places. I like that you pick a variety of pictures … I don’t think of myself as anal, but I seem always to need a theme to put a group of pictures together. I like the freedom and the flow of yours better. The eagle is of course the show stopper. We are just getting eagles back in our area. It took years for them to recover from the DDT disaster. I look forward to getting pictures like yours in the future. Love this Meme …

Thanks Andrea. I was specifically looking for photos that made me feel warm. Our Eagles are under serious threat from loss of habitat and all sorts of other environmental factors. It is really disheartening tho think that there are still rednecks out there who shoot these magnificent birds.
Love the little frog
That is a brown tree frog which is native to Tasmania. It had not long morphed from tadpole to froglet. Frogs in my garden make me very very happy
I like them all. I don’t have a favourite, all so disverse, each unique. x
found you via Discombobula 🙂
love your eagle shot….laughed at your description of running outside going snap snap snap and hoping like hell one of them turned out!
hope you like my contribution to Sunday selctions
Hi Kel, Lovely to meet you. You have added your Url to last weeks Sunday selections but I will fix it for you
