I went looking in the external hard drive for one of my favourite images of Amy as a toddler. Two hours later I emerged without that specific image but with these photos instead.
This is my grandmother on Christmas day 2007. It was really, really windy and Nan is trying to stop her tequila and orange from being blown out of her glass.
This next photo is of my Mum and Amy in my Mum’s kitchen. They are both enjoying being naughty as Amy isn’t allowed on the benchtops.
My daughter bouncing on the trampoline with her daughter.
And a photo of a summer sky to finish up with. I am yearning for summer I have been wearing shoes for far too long and I need to feel the earth between my toes in order to properly listen to the hum of the universe.
If you would like to join in with my Sunday Selections meme I would love to have you on board.
The Blurb.
I take a lot of photos and most of them are just sitting around in folders on my desktop not doing anything. I thought that a dedicated post once a week would be a good way to share some of these photos that otherwise wouldn’t be seen by anyone other than me.
I am also remarkably absent minded and I put photos into folders and think that I will publish them later on and then then I never do.
So I have started a photo meme that anyone can join in and play as well. The rules are so simple as to be virtually non existent.
Just add your name and URL to the Mr Linky.
Publish your photos on your blog using the “Sunday Selections” title.

Easy Peasy.

Gorgeous photos, Kim. I especially like the one of V and Amy 🙂
I do as well Tina, It started out as a very ordinary photo that probably would have been deleted. Then I cropped it and fiddled with the exposure and colours and voila it has now been published on the blog a couple of times.
Hi Kim,
I adore your generational photos…you are indeed a woman of my ilk…gotta love the grandparents who “play” like the kids….and I just read your post about cardboard…It can’t be worked with as it doesn’t have a voice, or a feel, or a soul because of its processed nature.
What insight.
What a woman!
Anyway, totally out of my normal setting for taking pics, but looking as always for an opportunity to try the Canon600D, I found SPORT happening near my place..and so, without any further discussion…A.F.L. getting people from 18 nations together in a peaceful way via the AFL International Cup 2011 started in my city, and will finish in Melbourne’s MCG on 27 August.
Thanks Denyse, I am pleased that you “got” what I was talking about with the cardboard.
I love what you have done with the picture of Veronica & Amy, really beautiful with the little touch of colour 🙂
Nan looks like she knows how to have a good time, even if it is windy 😀
It was a good Christmas that year Amanda. The whole family was together, including Jeff’s sister and three of her children. We played cricket and had heaps of fun. Looking through the photos brought back a lot of good memories.
Fabulous…what else can I say? (Apart from the usual compliments about gorgeous, instinctive good taste, consummate selection skills, loving, and blah blah on.)
you can blah blah blah as much as you like 🙂 I will just sit here and lap up the compliments.
Love the lighter than air tequila and orange, and the family shots. The summer sky is amazing too, but spring is quite warm enough for me. I am already trotting round in sandals.
The Tyranny of distance eh. You are in sandals and I am in a wooly jumper. I have already spent a good portion of my morning in the woodpile splitting wood. I will light the fire shortly and dream, barefoot dreams.
I love this set of family photos. Thanks for sharing their smiles.
“I need to feel the earth between my toes in order to properly listen to the hum of the universe.” … wow!
Love that photo of Veronica. There’s something very spiritual about it. I smiled at your grandmother with her drink. There’s no way you’d wear long sleeves and a vest on Christmas Day in Brisbane!
Great photo’s. Haha at your Nan protecting her tequila.
Sounds like there are some great memories attached to the photos too.
I only know 2 of the 5 generations of women in your family represented in this post … and they are 2 of my favourite people ever. I wish I’d been able to meet your Mum and Nan… and I hope i get to meet Amy one day.
🙂 xoxox
Beautiful photos, which have beautiful memories behind them. 🙂 *hugs* xx
Oh bugger! I was so busy scrubbing birdpoop out of top-of-wardrobe cupboards, then unpacking boxes, I totally forgot about Sunday Selections!
I love your selection this week, Kim, well I love them every week…the summer sky has cloud dragons.
Gorgeous post Kim. I get exactly what you mean, my play date this week made my heart melt as I’m sure your’s has done many times. Nothing matches the magic of three generations … well except when we’re four generations. I’m so blessed :~)
They are gorgeous photos. I’d love to have about 72 hours straight to go through your photo folders.
I’ve come to the conclusion that no males genes get a look in in your family, Kim, lol.
Your grandmother, mum, you, V, Amy and Isaac are blueprints for each other 😉
Love the pics 🙂
You know I love the pics of your Mum and Grand Mum!
I look at these pics and really, really wish I could visit and meet everyone who is there. You know your Grandmum seems a very *snappy* person… don’t know how else to put it. So much *life* in these pictures, Kim.
